How to play Classic Corners

The beginning is the checkers board, also known as the five-piece checkers board, played on the checkers board like chess or Chinese chess, but the goal and rules are simpler.

Detailed description of the board

  • The board consists of alternating light and dark squares like a chessboard
  • There are two sides: white and black pieces.
  • The white pieces are concentrated in the upper left corner, forming a dense cluster.
  • The black pieces are concentrated in the lower right corner, also forming a regular square.

Rules of caro

  • Two players take turns placing one of their pieces in any empty square.
  • The first player is usually the black piece or another convention depending on the version.
  • The game continues until one side reaches a continuous chain of 5 pieces or the board is full.

Tips for a quick win

  • A chain of 5 pieces in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally is a win.
  • If there are 6 pieces or more, it can be considered an overline depending on the rules, some places do not count as a win if it exceeds 5.
  • Try to create two directions to open the two empty ends of the chain to increase the chance of winning.
  • Observe and block the opponent's 4-piece chain of 4 pieces.
